Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why do I have to pay an application fee?
We have many essays to grade, and that involves paying people who are qualified with at least a Master's Degree to do so. It is not so much an application fee, as a fee for the expense of processing. We have over 40 scholarships with 250 applicants each to grade monthly, that's over 10,000 papers to score! If you cannot afford the application fee, we have set-up a GoFundMe page in order to cover this for you. The link is gofundme.com/29hcf5ew. We also offer an option in which you can sell Equal Exchange Fair Trade Products which will pay your application fee. Simply click on the link at the bottom of the page below, and share with your friends and family so that they can order products through the website. 2. Can I have help?
Absolutely! Use all of the resources you can, just make sure that the work you submit is your own. We do check for plagiarism. We also provide along with your application, an essay syllabus with detailed instructions, as well as an APA writing sample that you may also use as your template.
3. Who is eligible to apply?
You must be enrolled or accepted to a college or university in order to apply. We do verify that you are attending or going to be attending an undergraduate or graduate program at least part-time before you may receive a scholarship from Fund for Thought.
4. What if I decide that I do not want to apply and I've paid for my application?
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will issue you a refund as long as you have not submitted your essay. However, if the transaction is more than 60 days old, we will not process refund, but willl honor a credit towards your application of a scholarship.
5. When will the winners be notified?
We will notify the winners of awards within 30 days following the deadline date. We will both call and email you using the information you provided on your application. If your information changes, please email us at email@example.com so we may update our records.
6. How do I receive my scholarship?
We will pay you directly, once we have verified your enrollment. Checks are mailed to the address you specify, and are sent out within the week following notification of award. We can also pay you via PayPal if you'd like.
7. Can I list you on my resume if I win?
Yes, please do! We also like to recognize you on our website with a picture and a short biography, as well as the university you are attending, with your permission.
8. What if I don't see my area of study?
Please send us suggestions or inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
9. Can I apply more than once?
Yes and no. You may only apply to one scholarship per deadline period. If you are not chosen, you may apply to the next deadline period. There is a limit of three applications per scholarship per student. We do understand if you change majors, but we try to give others a chance as well as prevent anyone from exploiting the system.
10. Can I receive feedback if I didn't win?
Yes. Please email us at email@example.com, and we will email you the graded essay with feedback.
